Club Doncaster Sports College were named winners of the Partnership of the Year Award last night, for the continued success of the partnership with University Campus Doncaster.
Representatives from the Foundation and Sports College were in attendance at the Doncaster Business Awards last night, hosted at Doncaster Racecourse, with businesses and charities from across the city, highlighting the fantastic work that goes on across Doncaster.
The partnership has seen the expansion of opportunities for students taking the next step in their educational pathway following the completion of their courses at the Sports College.
It’s from this partnership with the DN Colleges Group that has seen the development of cutting-edge facilities like the High Performance Centre with UC Doncaster at the Eco-Power Stadium, which not only benefits those studying there, but also elite sports clubs across Doncaster.
Students are able to work first hand with elite athletes from a variety of sports, with some of the most cutting edge equipment and technology within the industry.
Foundation CEO, John Davis said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have received this award at the Doncaster Business Awards.
“This partnership wouldn’t be possible without the continuous hard work from both our Sports College and HPC staff, who provide opportunities and support for students within their studies, and the seamless transition from BTEC courses to degrees.
“As we continue to grow and develop this partnership, we want to ensure as many young people get the chance to study within the heart of Doncaster.”
Sports College principal, Adi Turnpenny, accepted the award last night and said: “It’s been a fantastic year for us and receiving this award has rounded it off.
“We’re very proud of the partnership we have with DN Colleges Group and the opportunities we’re able to offer to our students here.
“We pride ourselves on offering in-depth courses, with additional opportunities for those who study here and create pathways into professional sports in a number of ways.
“Plans are continuously being developed to ensure the partnership continues to grow and students who study with us, receive top quality education.”
We are excited to announce that applications for 2025/26 are open. Year 11’s can apply online via the Sports College website: clubdoncastersportscollege.co.uk/apply
