Now in her third year of study, Sophie is returning this year to undertake her work placement with us.

Cameron joined the Sports College BTEC Level 3 programme in September 2013. As part of his studies his aims were to develop his footballing ability and to push himself to the next level academically and sporting. He finished last season with the College’s Goal of the Season Award, and during his final year at the College he achieved the grades to progress to university. Following on from his footballing performances, he signed for Conference North team Boston United on a 1 year contract.

Heather joined our Sports College in September 2010, enrolling onto our Level 2 course. During her time on the course Heather regularly volunteered with our Foundation team and gained valuable work experience with them. After her course finished she was offered a two year apprenticeship as a Community Coach and is now employed by the Foundation full-time in this role as well as being Matchday Co-ordinator.

Georgia studied with the Sports College over a two year period on the BTEC Level 3. Due to Georgia’s hard work and excellent grades with Club Doncaster Sports College, and her impressive performances in the swimming pool; she was able to gain a sporting scholarship to study in America at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Georgia is currently in her freshman year in the States, studying Exercise Science.

Thomas studied with the Sports College over a two year period on the BTEC Level 3. During his time he enjoyed a sustained period as the goalkeeper and captain of the college’s futsal team, even getting picked for a trial with the England Futsal team at St George’s Park. Alongside his educational and sporting achievements, Thomas travelled to Mombasa, Kenya with the Sports College team, supporting in a school and playing football matches against local teams. The trip culminated in a once in a lifetime safari trip in Tsavo East, an experience which also looked great on Thomas’ university application. In 2016 Thomas came back to the college on his university placement and was even invited to support on the European Tour in Amsterdam.

Lee Basilisco joined the Sports College BTEC Level 3 programme in September 2015. During his time at the sports college Lee excelled in his studies and his passion, football. Lee represented the college in two victorious Varsity games on the main Eco-Power Stadium pitch and was also present on two European Tours, captaining the team on many occasions. He is now following his dream of being a chiropractor.

Kyle studied with the Sports College over a two year period on the BTEC Level 3 programme. Kyle completed his studies in sport, with the aim of progressing into a career as a P.E teacher. Due to his hard work and excellent grades with Club Doncaster Sports College, he was able to gain a higher education place to study at Club Doncaster Sports College. Kyle is currently in his second year of higher education, on his way to completing his studies in Sport and Exercise Sciences.
